The Lofrans chain roller-stopper with tensioner is designed to enhance anchoring safety by holding and locking both the chain and anchor while relieving load from the windlass. Manufactured from AISI 316L stainless steel, it offers excellent corrosion resistance and durability in marine environments. The integrated devil’s claw takes up chain tension, and the unit is installed between the windlass and bow roller for optimal load distribution.

The Lofrans chain roller-stopper with tensioner is a safety device designed to hold and lock the anchor chain while relieving the load from the windlass.

Manufactured from AISI 316L stainless steel, the unit provides excellent corrosion resistance and long-term reliability in harsh marine conditions. An integrated devil’s claw allows the chain tension to be taken up efficiently, reducing stress on the windlass during anchoring or when the anchor is stowed.

The chain stopper is installed between the windlass and the bow roller. It is particularly useful for windlasses with two gypsies or with a gypsy and drum, allowing one gypsy to be isolated while operating the other.

Please note: the chain line must be parallel to the chain stopper for correct operation.
