The Lofrans chain stopper is designed to enhance anchoring safety by blocking the anchor chain and relieving the load from the windlass. Manufactured from AISI 316L stainless steel, it offers excellent corrosion resistance and long-term durability in marine environments. Installed between the windlass and the bow roller, it effectively takes the load off the windlass during anchoring or when the anchor is stowed.
The Lofrans chain stopper is a safety device designed to block the anchor chain and relieve the load from the windlass.
Manufactured from AISI 316L stainless steel, the chain stopper provides excellent corrosion resistance and durability in harsh marine environments. Its robust construction ensures secure chain holding during anchoring and when the anchor is stowed.
The unit is installed between the windlass and the bow roller and is particularly useful for windlasses equipped with two gypsies or a gypsy and drum, allowing one gypsy to be isolated while operating the other.
Please note: the chain line must be parallel to the chain stopper for correct operation.
